Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP central governing board member Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi has underlined the need to protect human rights. Addressing the students at Nannaya University in connection with International Human Rights Day on Tuesday, she said everyone in the society should know about their rights and act accordingly.
Mainly, the students should know about human rights and also bring awareness among the people on human rights, which was the need of the hour. Even many literates were not aware of human rights and breaking of human rights cannot be spared.
She advised the university management to start human rights department in the university, which benefits a lot to the students. The programme was conducted under the aegis of NSS unit V and Social work wing of the university.
NSS programme officer Dr P Venkateswarlu, assistant conveners Dr MB Rao, Dr RJ Rao, Dr NK Kiran Chandra and many others were present.
