Rains lash Banaganapalle mandal; damage standing crops

Kurnool: Unexpected rains lashed Banaganapalle mandal on Thursday midnight. With the heavy downpour streams and lakes over flowed and roads were inundated with rain water.

The rains that lashed the district for 15 days have filled up all the ponds in Banaganapalle and Sanjamala mandals. A culvert in Banaganapalle that connects transportation facilities to Gooty, Guntakal and Bellary was washed away in the flood waters.

Transportation connectivity between these places has come to a halt. The rains that lashed Sanjamala mandal has also put same impact. The rain water damaged standing cotton, chilli and paddy crops.
