Addressing the students of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in an awareness meeting on 'Anti-Ragging' on Saturday, he said that due to lack of awareness a few students have been indulging in ragging their fellow students and acting inhumanly with them.
The judge advised the students to be aware of the Anti-Ragging Act thoroughly and welcome their juniors with affection. In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof V Uma observed that ragging evil is like a weed in the universities which should be removed to create healthy and pleasant atmosphere in the campus. She said that they were proud of their campus as it was free from ragging.
Anti-ragging squad has been appointed for the convenience of junior students and a team of faculty was visiting hostels in the nights. School of Sciences Dean Prof A Jyothi and Director of School of Engineering Prof A Ramakrishna Rao also spoke on the occasion. Students affairs Dean Prof G Savithri, faculty and students were present.
