Port distributes stationery material among 550 students in Visakhapatnam
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Gangavaram Port Limited on Monday provided scholarships to selected students and distributed stationery materials also.
Visakhapatnam: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Gangavaram Port Limited on Monday provided scholarships to selected students and distributed stationery materials also.
The ceremony was attended by Tippala Nagi Reddy, MLA, Gajuwaka Constituency in the presence of Sambasiva Rao, CEO, V Janardhan Rao, COO, B Balakrishna, Vice President, Vigilance (R&R and Security), L P S Ramu Naidu, Vice President (R&R and Security) along with staff members of Gangavaram Port.
GPL staff distributed stationery items like school bags, books and compass boxes to nearly 550 students in ZP High School, MPP Elementary School, Pallepalam MPP Elementary School. GPL also awarded scholarships to meritorious Class X students (2018-19) from Gangavaram High School, Peddagantyada mandal, Gangavaram village.
The students who got the scholarship are Jaya who got 1st prize of Rs 10,000, Pramila got 2nd prize of Rs 5,000 & M Manjusha got 3rd prize of Rs 5,000. This initiative was done with an objective to promote education in the neighboring villages and create a healthy environment for the students in the school.
According to Gangavaram Port Management, "It's our endeavour to strengthen the education facilities and promote an encouraging environment. We are committed to the development of our neighbourhood and will continue to support similar initiatives for creating a stronger society."
