Nellore: The 3-day police custody of YSR Congress Party district president and former minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy concluded on Sunday.
It is learnt that the police probed the ex-minister on his alleged involvement related to the collection of toll fees from the trucks carrying goods from various parts of the country to Krishnapatnam port.
After completion of the probe at Krishnapatnam port police station, cops produced Kakani Govardhan Reddy before the 4th Additional Judge and later shifted him to the Nellore Central Prison on Sunday evening.
The court is likely to hear the bail petition of the former minister on Monday. Meanwhile, police are planning to fine another petition seeking further custody of Kakani as they have not received proper answers from the former minister on his alleged involvement in various cases including storing of explosives used during mining and SC and ST atrocity cases registered at Venkatchalam police station.
