Permission mandatory for Ganesh pandals: SP
West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh Grewal has said that the organisers of Ganesh pandals during Vinayaka Chaviti festivities should take prior permission for the same.
Eluru: West Godavari District Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh Grewal has said that the organisers of Ganesh pandals during Vinayaka Chaviti festivities should take prior permission for the same.
They should also get a valid permission from the State Electricity Department for lighting the pandal and its premises. He warned the organizers of stern action, if they take unauthorized power connection, either from electricity pole or live wires.
The Superintendent of Police directed the police department officials to inspect the places of pandal erection after receiving an application from the local organizers and verify whether the place is suitable for pandals and free from any trouble for local people and traffic.
The SP advised the pandal organizers to arrange CC TV cameras if the pandal is too big. Activities other than devotion such as gambling, boozing and obscene record dancing should not be entertained. The collection of funds should not be forceful, he added.
