Santhanuthalapadu: The DWCRA women loans pending before the elections will be cleared off soon, announced the minister for Environment and Forests, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy. He participated as the chief guest to the program 'Manatho Mana MLA- A hearty meeting with the SHG women' at Doddavarappadu in Maddipadu mandal of Santhanuthalapadu assembly constituency, on Friday.
Speaking at the large gathering of the DWCRA women from the Maddipadu mandal, Srinivasa Reddy remembered that the late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy dreamt of making all of DWCRA women into lakshadhikari's and helped many with loans and other programs.
He said that the former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu cheated the women by fake promises like loan waiver etc and the DWCRA members taught him a lesson. He announced that the YS Rajasekhara Reddy's son Jagan Mohan Reddy was introducing many women-centric welfare programs like Amma Vodi, zero-interest loans etc.
He informed that the Amma Vodi program, to support the mothers who are sending their children to school with Rs 15000 per year, is being launched on January 9. He also said that the government is distributing housing plots to eligible white ration card holders from Ugadi next year.
He announced that they are about to distribute 25 lakhs of housing plots in that program so that all families own a house in the state. He announced that the chief minister is getting ready to keep his promise of waiving off all DWCRA loans due before the 2019 general elections, soon.
The local MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu thanked all the DWCRA and other self-help groups' women for showing confidence in YSR Congress Party in the last elections. He said as a token of gratitude to the love showered by the people, the government is introducing many welfare programs like Amma Vodi, zero-interest loans, financial assistance to workers, auto drivers and others to support the public.
He said that YS Rajasekhara Reddy wanted the DWCRA women always smiling and Jagan Mohan Reddy is now working to keep the families of the DWCRA women are happy by introducing welfare programs.
He said that the programs like Amma Vodi are revolutionary programs to help the poor send their children to school and he claimed to know the importance of education as he came from a downtrodden and dalit family.
He promised that the YSRCP leaders will work as servants to the public and requested them to keep their confidence in them in future also. The officials informed the minister and the MLA that there are 12315 members 1230 DWCRA groups in 42 organizations in the Maddipadu mandal. They said that as the chief minister wanted to waive off the DWCRA loans in four instalments, 1139 groups are eligible to receive Rs 41.74 crores as total waiver in the mandal.
