Addressing an election meeting along with BSP supremo Mayawati here on Thursday, Pawan Kalyan said that the proposed autonomous administrative council will be headed by chief minister and will be in direct control of him. This was to see the pilgrim city be developed and also simultaneously to weed out of anti-social elements and irregularities like land grabbing which of late rampant in the city.
Making a scathing attack on the sitting MLA and TDP nominee M Suguna as well as YSRCP Assembly candidate Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, he warned them that their misdeed going to end soon as the people of the city led by JSP will see them thrown out in the elections.
Pawan promised a slew of development initiatives that would pave way for the economic development of Tirupati and also improve facilities including health and medicare in big way. They include development of the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) on par with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Talakona, a scenic tourist spot in Chandragiri constituency and reviving the two closed cooperative sugar factory and Vijaya dairy which he said was weakened for the sake of Heritage Milk Factory.
Development of the 52 slums in the city as model mini-town and also Jeevakona, a predominantly labour area with more than 50,000 population devoid of even basic facilities and also resolving the issues of locals of Tirumala.
The JSP chief in his address mainly focused on attacking YSRCP nominee Karunakar Reddy, portraying him as a rowdy element and repeatedly warned that the JSP would allow him to play his game as he played in 2014 election. He also recalled the incident in which Congress activists allegedly tried to prevent Chiranjeevi coming out from his hotel, in 2009 and curtly told Reddy that it is not 2009 but 2019.
He said that the reason behind he sought the support of BSP chief was that he was very much inspired by the way she boldly tackled political goons in Uttar Pradesh and wanted that the women in Tirupati should arise and awake to fight courageously against Karunakar Reddy. He also did no spare TDP nominee M Suguna and her close relative alleging that they were indulging in land grabbing and corruption in the city.
Thanking profusely Mayawati assuring to support Andhra Pradesh to get the Special Category Status (SCS), he said that the JSP and its allies including the BSP will strive for social justice following the footsteps Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Ambedkar and Mayawati.
In this connection, he said the weaker sections particularly Dalits in AP still facing atrocities at the hands of upper castes and in Kadapa in many places the Dalits are forced to go without shoes while passing throw upper caste street.
With no exception all the parties using Dalits as vote bank and throwing them after the elections, he said declaring that they weaker section no more ready to bear the palanquins of upper castes. Mayawati, who attacked both Congress and BJP said that the Congress despite ruling for long 70 years failed to ensure social justice and develop weaker sections leading to the part losing in many states.
The BJP too following the same path and ignored the weaker sections. BJP in its manifest gave scores of promises but none was implemented, she said lampooning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who she said playing a new trick to win votes. "The people no more ready to believe him and sure to teach a lesson to BJP and RSS in the election for the retrogressive and anti-weaker section policies," she slammed.
Expressing her solidarity to JSP alliance, she said that the alliance will win in AP for Pawan to become the Chief Minister. The alliance in AP also will help to bring a new political set up at national level also to fulfil the dreams of Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
Pawan Kalyan introduced the contesting candidates of JSP and BSP in Chittoor and Nellore districts including Tirupati nominee Chadalawada Krishna Murthy. He said he chose Krishnamurthy for Tirupati as he could counter Karunakar Reddy's rowdism.
