Panabaka Lakshmi vows to strive for Tirupati Rly division
Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency TDP candidate Dr Panabaka Lakshmi said that they will strive for constructing Dugarajapatnam port, separate railway division for Tirupati and for completion of other sanctioned projects for the region.
Nellore: Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency TDP candidate Dr Panabaka Lakshmi said that they will strive for constructing Dugarajapatnam port, separate railway division for Tirupati and for completion of other sanctioned projects for the region.
As part of her election campaign, she toured in Sarvepalli, Manubole and Gudur rural mandals on Sunday and interacted with The Hans India. She said that they are seeking votes citing huge development taken up by the state government and also development agenda for the coming five years.
"My primary assurance is to develop Tirupati in all spheres and hence I propose a separate railway division for the temple city which witnesses huge rush of devotees and continuous traffic pressure. There is only Guntakal division which is insufficient. We have also lost part of Waltair division which goes to East Coast Railway and so we need a separate division," said Panabaka Lakshmi.
She also said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently assured for an industrial hub for Satyavedu connecting Nellore-Tirupati-Chennai which will provide huge employment opportunities in the region. This would push entry of new industries and economic zones that provide direct and indirect employment to the local people of these districts, she explained.
Refuting opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy's comment that no action for initiating Dugarajapatnam port in Nellore district has been taken, she said that recently the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured for taking up the issue again as it was the part of assurances made at the time of bifurcation.
She also said Gudur-Dugarajapatnam railway line is still pending though the Indian Railways sanctioned the project. She assured that she will take up the issue if she is elected from the constituency which is useful for backward Vakadu and Kota areas of Gudur division. She also said would focus on development of Pulicat lake as an important tourism hub in the district for revenue to the Government and also recreation place for the tourists.
