Kadapa: Task force officials have seized 14 red sanders logs by arresting a smuggler in Kancharla forest area on Thursday night. The accused is identified as Y Mallikarjuna Reddy (35) of Tuvvapalli village of Mydukuru mandal.
According to Task Force official K Ravikumar, following a tip off, they conducted raids in Kancharla forest area though there was heavy rains and noticed 15 smugglers carrying red sanders logs.
However 14 smugglers were managed to escape from the place by pelting stones on the police. Police were able to arrest a local smuggler (Mallikarjuna Reddy).Task force police registered a he case and sent the accused to remand.
