One dead and eight injured after a vegetable carrying truck overturns in Kurnool

Kurnool:Road accidents are unstoppable in Kurnool district. In a single day, on Monday a minimum of 30 persons were seriously hurt at various road accidents. Before the people could forget the incidents, one more person died and eight others greviously injured when a vegetable loaded Eicher van overturned near Kodumuru on the early hours of Tuesday.

According to Mallikarjuna, the Sub Inspector of Kodumuru police station, one Boya Ravi Kumar resident of Kapati Rangapuram village in Pedda Kadaburu mandal of Kurnool district used to transport vegetables from Kirnool to Hyderabad. As usual, on Tuesday early morning, he loaded vegetables in a Eicher van and was heading to Hyderabad from Adoni. After crossing Kodumuru, the vehicle overturned between, Kothuru-Pyalakurthi villages. In the incident, the driver, Boya Ravi Kumar died on the spot and eight more persons present in the Eicher van also suffered seriously hurt. Of the eight three persons were critically injured, said Mallikarjuna.

The police on learning about the accident rushed to the spot and immediately shifted all the injured to Kurnool government general hospital for treatment in 108 ambulance. Even the dead body was also shifted to Mortuary for conducting autopsy. A case has been registered under relevant sections and taken up investigation. Quoting the reasons behind the incident, the Sub Inspector, Mallikarjuna said, the driver was in sleepy mode. He lost control over the steering with which the incident took place, stated Mallikarjuna.
