Officials asked to focus on welfare schemes

Addanki: Prakasam district collector P Raja Babu chaired a special review meeting at the RDO office in Addanki on Tuesday, emphasising the need for the newly formed Addanki Revenue Division to accelerate its developmental progress. Senior officials from all concerned departments were directed to work in coordination to expedite the implementation of welfare schemes.
Reviewing programmes under the Employment Guarantee and Panchayati Raj departments, the collector ordered mandal-level officers to reside locally and inspect sanitation and the employment guarantee scheme works daily. He warned that negligence in maintaining drinking water tanks, repairing hand pumps and taps, and improving groundwater levels would not be tolerated. On the agriculture front, the collector directed officials to prepare special three-month plans suited to local conditions, focusing on reducing chemical fertilizer usage while improving crop yields. Greater emphasis was placed on crop diversification and farmer awareness under the ‘Raitanna Meekosam’ programme, with field visits mandated at least three days a week. Regarding revenue issues, he stressed resolving WebLand, mutation, and 22(A) disputes without recurrence, ensuring clear endorsements in Revenue Clinic applications.
