The Private liquor stores would be disappeared today as the government will operate liquor stores starting from Tuesday, October 1. On the other hand, the private liquor merchants are busy working on clearing the shops and selling the goods, and the excise department was filling up the rented stores with liquor material.

Officials are making arrangements to recruit new staff. In this regard, people are facing struggles to find liquor in some areas. There are currently 4,380 private liquor stores in the state. The government has announced that it will phase-out the liquor ban, reducing 20 per cent of its existing 4,380 shops to 3448 govt shops

The private liquor business ceased in 1995 during the alcohol bans. Again, after two decades, private liquor is brewing. Almost all of the merchants have already evacuated as licenses are being lost today. On Sunday, many shops stopped selling alcohol. The old traders will hand over the goods to the new ones when the policy expires.

But now the government organises the liquor shops, which led to the eviction of all private liquor stores. However, the excise department has already added material to all government shops. Each shop has supplied liquor worth Rs 2 lakh. The staff in the shops are well trained.

Officials have been trying to make all the shops available since 1st without any hassles. Up to 3,200 out of 3,500 shops are expected to open on Tuesday.
