The Union government has reduced the percentile cut offs for NEET-PG by 6 percentile, taking them to 44 percentile for general category candidates, 39 percentile for Persons with Disabilities category and 34 percentile for SC, ST and OBC category candidates.

Amaravati: The Union government has reduced the percentile cut offs for NEET-PG by 6 percentile, taking them to 44 percentile for general category candidates, 39 percentile for Persons with Disabilities category and 34 percentile for SC, ST and OBC category candidates.

A communication was sent to the Special Chief Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah of Medical Education and Family Welfare on Tuesday in this regard. Amit Biswas, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Union government has explained that the Central government has taken this decision to reduce qualifying marks in NEET- PG, 2019 after consultations with the Medical Council of India (MCI).

The Central government requested all the States to make necessary arrangements for allowing students as per revised qualifying marks in any further rounds of counselling this year. The National Board of Examination (NBE) was also advised to furnish revised merit list for all the states.
