Leaders from Rayalaseema region, who spoke in the BJP regional meeting, have sought the support of the State government for setting up steel plant in Kadapa district.

Kadapa: Leaders from Rayalaseema region, who spoke in the BJP regional meeting, have sought the support of the State government for setting up steel plant in Kadapa district.

The meeting also demanded that the Jagan government to take initiative for storing 210 tmcft of water in all reservoirs and 20 tmcft in Gandikota reservoir in the interest of Kadapa district farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, AP BJP chief Kanna Lakshminarayana has said that the Central government is ready to construct steel plant if the State government provides support.

The BJP leader blamed the TD government for delay in starting the construction of steel plant. Kanna has stressed on the need for establishment of steel plant as number of unemployed from the district are migrating to other areas in search of livelihood.

Even though, several leaders from Rayalaseema region represented in various capacities like Chief Ministers and Union Ministers but there was no expected development, he faulted. He demanded that the State government should take initiative for setting up the High Court in Kurnool.

Former Minister P Manikyala Rao has slammed leaders of Rayalaseema for neglecting the Seema development. The BJP-led NDA government is keen on developing Rayalaseema by allocating more funds for completion of projects in this region, he mentioned

Earlier, Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh inaugurated an ambulance and CCTV cameras at government hospital in Proddatur purchased with MP funds.

BJP's national secretary Satya Kumar, State vice-president Vishnuvardhan Reddy, former Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, party district president Srinath Reddy and others were present.
