Rajamahendravaram: Minister for Fisheries and district in-charge minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao has said that the State government was giving top priority for welfare schemes, health and education in the state.

Participating in the 'Mana Badi Naadu Nedu' programme held at Rajanagaram here on Thursday, he said the programme was aimed to strengthen all government schools on par with private schools.

Under this programme, the schools will be developed in nine aspects and after six months the development of respective schools will reviewed with photos. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is very much particular to implement the programme effectively and the parents who wants English medium can admit their children in government schools hereafter.

Introduction of English medium in the government schools helps a lot to poor and middle class children and many people are welcoming English medium in government schools. Meanwhile Telugu subject has been made compulsory in all schools, he averred.

Through the 'Ammavodi' scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 15,000 will be given to the Intermediate students, he said. About four lakh jobs were created in five months in the state.

MP Margani Bharat Ram said Mana Badi Naadu Nedu scheme was getting good response from various sections of society. Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha Viswanadh said the government will provide basic facilities to all 45,000 schools in the state in a phased manner.

Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja said as many as 184 schools are functioning in the Assembly constituency and all the schools will be strengthened in all aspects. District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy said as many as 1,381 schools were identified for Mana Badi Naadu Nedu programme in the district in the first phase.

Ramachandrapuram MLA CH Venugopala Krishna MLC IV Rao, YSRCP leaders Jaakkampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, S Sivarama Subramanyam, district educational officer S Abraham, information and public relations department deputy director M Francis and others were present.
