Vizianagaram: Zero Budget Natural Farming District Project Manager K Prakash said that natural farming is a good opportunity to reduce crop expenditure and to grow healthier food grains. Addressing the training programme organised at Jattu Trust, he instructed the staff to motivate farmers by using the projector and by screening short films on how to reduce crop expenditure by adopting natural farming.

Even the field staff like cluster resource persons (CRP), cluster activists (CA), Internal CRPs should be acquainted with advanced technology and use the same to convert the conventional farmers towards natural farming, he pointed out. Stating that visual media could influence more on farmers, he asked the field staff to learn the operating system of this pico projector and show the short films on various issues to the farmers in the village.

He directed the filed staff to display short films on preparation of Ghana Jeevamrutham, Drava Jeevamrutham and preparation of herbal decoctions to eradicate pests and diseases. Even the success stories of farmers also would inspire our villagers and they would come to us to learn these methods, he stated.

"We should explain how the usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides burdening the farmer and damaging the environment. We should convince them not to use chemical fertilizers, which are costlier and hazardous to the crops and environment too," he said.
