Anantapur: A mega free medical camp organised for accredited media personnel and their families was successfully conducted at the Collectorate premises on Tuesday. The camp, held from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., was organised under the supervision of District Collector O Anand in coordination with the Information & Public Relations Department, District Medical and Health Department, and district administration.

The camp was inaugurated by the Collector, who also inspected the facilities and underwent a blood pressure check. A total of over 236 journalists and their family members availed free medical services during the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Anand emphasised the importance of health awareness and preventive healthcare, especially among media professionals. He noted that journalists play a key role in spreading awareness in society and urged them to utilise digital health initiatives such as the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID.

The camp provided a wide range of diagnostic tests, including BP, ECG, 2D Echo, blood tests, thyroid, sugar levels, and vitamin analysis. Specialist consultations were offered in general medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, gynaecology, neurology, ENT, dentistry, urology, and ophthalmology.
