Kurnool: Students JAC stages massive rally against CAA, NRC, NPR

Kurnool: The Joint Acton Committee (JAC) of students' wing has taken out a Tiranga rally protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Population Register (NPR) and National Register of Citizens (NRC). The rally started from Kondareddy Buruju at Old Bus Stand, was culminated at the Collectorate on Wednesday. A large number of students and women from various colleges in the city and several people from various Muslim Minorities Organisations participated in the rally.

YSRCP Kurnool MLA M A Hafeez Khan participated as chief guest on the occasion and addressed the gathering. Khan said the CAA, NRC and NPR were against the constitution and under any circumstances, the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will never give his permission to implement them in the state.

Condemning the attitude of Central government, he alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were provoking one section of community and want to divide the country based on caste, creed and religion. The senseless act of Centre was costing lives of several innocent people, he said and added so far, several people lost their lives and the national capital Delhi was boiling with the issue. "This is not a good omen to the country. The downfall of Modi has started," Khan stated.

He said people of all communities were joining hands to fight against the Modi government and rallies and protests were being observed in every nook and corner of the country.

He called upon the people to voluntarily come forward to drive out the evil forces. Khan demanded the Modi government to take back the decision of CAA, NPR and NRC. On the occasion, the students carried a lengthy national flag from Old Bus Stand to the Collectorate in a procession. The participants also observed a two minutes silence as mark of paying tributes to the departed souls, who lost their lives in Delhi violence.
