Kurnool: Dead pregnant woman tied to tree trunk instead of being burried

Kurnool: A deceased pregnant woman was tied to a trunk of a tree and was abandoned and the inhuman incident took place at B Nagireddy Palle in Rudravaram mandal of Allagadda constituency. Though the incident has taken place on Saturday night, it has come to light on Monday as the farmers brought the issue to the notice of police. The deceased woman was identified as Lavanya (20).
According to information, Lavanya of Sirivella was married to one Dharmendra of B Nagireddy Palle one-and-half year ago. Lavanya conceived pregnancy and had developed labour pains on Saturday. She was rushed to Allagadda Government General hospital but no one took care even after three hours. As the pains got severe the family members shifter her to Nandyal General Hospital.
She was admitted at the hospital, but before delivery she died while undergoing treatment. The family members took the body to their village and prepared for burial. In the meantime, some village heads directed that the pregnant woman should not be buried as it will bring misfortune to the village. The family members took the body into Nalamalla forest and tied it to a tree trunk at Pulibonu Vagu near Appanapalli village.
The Appana Palle villagers who passed on the the way noticed the body of pregnant woman tied to the tree trunk. They informed to Rudravaram police who rushed to the spot and sifted the body to the village and later completed the burial ceremony.
The Rudravaram Sub Inspector, Rama Mohan Reddy said they have filed a case under sections 269, 270, 297 and 504 of IPC on 14 persons that include the family members of the deceased woman and the villagers.
The District Collector, G Veera Pandiyan directed the Rudravaram Tahsildar to submit a detailed report on the incident.
