Kurnool: People with suspected corona virus symptoms stationed and being treated at quarantine centres across the district and at state level Covid hospital alleged that are supplied poor quality food and insufficient water. Only two litres of water to the entire day for drinking is being supplied. The patients express their anguish on the government for not taking proper care even in case of positive patients.

A patient at state level covid hospital in Kurnool said to The Hans India on Thursday that the patients are not supplied with tasty and nutrient food as it is being focused in newspapers. "The food is not fit to consume. With regard to dry fruits, only four broken cashew nuts, an egg and one date are being supplied as snacks at evening hours. Apart from that no fruits are supplied to the patients at the ward,'' alleged the patient.

He further alleged that for twenty patients there are only two latrines and one bathroom. All the inpatients have to use them. Of the two latrines one doesn't have locking facility. They are maintained unhygienically and there is no proper sanitation.

He said apart from male patients, there are some women patients who are pregnant and babies delivered. Just imagine what would be their condition if this kind of situations are prevailing at the state level covid hospital, he lamented.

In quarantine centre (at social welfare hostel) at Pathikonda, as many as 98 migrants who have returned from Mumbai were stationed at hostel quarantine. They are alleging that they are supplied with half boiled food cooked from the PDS rice.

When The Hans India asked with the Pathikonda Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) Sri Devi, she said we are not given a specific menu to follow. But we are supplying tasty food, said the MRO. She further said of the 98 persons 22 were tested positive and were referred to state level covid hospital, about three days ago.

Actually, the government is maintaining that it is spending Rs.500 to every patient who are supplied with tasty and nutrient food.
