Tirupati: Krishnadevaraya Educational and Cultural Association (KECA), a non-profit charitable association assisting deserving meritorious students hosted its Golden Jubilee celebrations at Amara Raja Auditorium, Karakambadi on Wednesday. Founder Chairman of GMR Group Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao participated as Chief Guest and said that KECA has been working tirelessly in various domains to help the needy students.

KECA president Dr Ramachandra N Galla said that since 1969, KECA has been coming up with innovative ways to ensure that education reaches meritorious students from rural backgrounds and also make them industry-ready professionals via myriad skill development programmes. Till date KECA has supported more than 1,600 students with scholarships amounting to Rs 2.75 crore. The executive committee has also mobilised resources to increase the corpus fund to Rs 5 crores.

Other eminent guests of honour included general secretary of Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS) G Muniratnam, MP Jayadev Galla, Srikalahasti MLA Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, Dr Ramadevi Gourineni and former Minister Galla Aruna Kumari. The day-long celebrations included souvenir release and distribution of scholarships to meritorious students among other things.
