Over 400 students will be selected in the first phase

Vijayawada: The officials of Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation started interviews to select students for Videshi Vidya Deevana Scheme for 2019-20 academic year at Corporation's state office here on Thursday.

In the first phase, over 400 students will be selected for the scheme. Speaking to media here on Thursday, Kapu Corporation Chairman Jakkampudi Raja said that the State government would provide benefits to all eligible students without any discrimination.

The students should not approach middlemen, he said and added the selection process would be completed transparently. He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was taking all steps to implement the schemes without giving room for corruption.

The students should apply through the website of corporation and they could meet the officials if they have any doubts.

The applicants would be given token numbers on districts wise, he said and added the students should meet the officials as per their token numbers.

Kapu Corporation General Manager Mohan Rao said the students and their parents could give their suggestions to officials.

He said all eligible students could get financial assistance under the scheme. The candidates' selection process and interviews would be continued on October 18 also.
