Kakinada: Junior doctors of Rangaraya Medical College (RMC), as a mark of protest against National Medical Council (NMC) Bill, participated in relay hunger strike at RMC PG quarters here on Thursday.

They gathered in large numbers at Kakinada Government General Hospital (KGGH) with the support of under-graduate students and postgraduate students without disturbing the general public and patient care in the hospital. The participants raised slogans against the undemocratic, anti-poor, anti-federal, pro-corporate sections and clauses of draconian NMC Bill-2019 which was passed in the Lok Sabha on July 29.

The All India Democratic Women Association extended support to the protesting junior doctors. On this occasion, representatives of junior doctors threatened to continue the protests in the form of indefinite relay fast if the Rajya Sabha also passes the NMC Bill without making necessary amendments.
