Tirupati: A row on inam land is creating tension among the hundreds of land and building owners in Tirupati which came to light recently by the verdict of Chittoor inam court.

It may be noted that, a few days ago inam court had given clear ownership entitlement to TTD on 188 acres of prime land in and around of Tirupati Central Bus Stand.

Lands in city in survey numbers 8a1, 8a2 to 9a1,9a2 and 623, 4073 originally belong to TTD for the past several years. In 1865 these lands were given to Thallapaka families. After that they sold those lands to a local farmer P Subba Reddy. Later his son P Gurava Reddy had got Raithuvari Patta and he sold out the lands as house and commercial plots.

On the other hand, the TTD had started legal fight to take back the 188 acres of lands from Thallapaka families. In this connection a petition was filed by its officials in 1945 with Chandragiri Sub Collector.

PS Gurava Reddy legal heirs filed a writ petition in AP High Court. The petition was squashed by High Court in 2014. After that this case trial was started in Chittoor inam court on the directions of AP High Court. In this backdrop, freshly a row took place between locals and TTD. On the basis of Chittoor inam Court decision, TTD legal and estate departments are readying to conduct survey on field.

The local residents who had purchased the lands and constructed buildings on inam lands are in tension. Because hundreds of crores worth buildings, star hotels and shopping malls were developed over the period. APSRTC also had purchased lands and constructed present RTC central bus stand in the above survey numbers.

TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal stated that inam court had given verdict in favour of TTD, so our estate department will conduct field survey and asses the present position. On the basis of their survey TTD is going to take appropriate action, he added.
