Guntur: Municipal workers stage dharna

Guntur: Municipal workers protested at GMC office here on Thursday, to mount pressure on the government to solve their long-pending demands.

Speaking on the occasion, district municipal workers union president B Muthyalu urged the State government to pay salaries during the strike period, an amount of Rs 33,000 as health allowance and salary dues of the rag pickers for six months.

He criticized that though the government directed to pay salaries before the fifth of every month, officials were not paying salaries before fifth day.

CITU leader Chinta Srivasa Rao warned that if their problems are not solved immediately, they will intensify their agitation.
