Guntur : Guntur district in-charge minister Cherakuvada Sri Ranganadha Raju said that the government has set up district level Agriculture Advisory Board to supply fertilisers, seeds and pesticides.
Addressing district level Agriculture Advisory Board meeting held here on Wednesday, Ranganadha Raju said that the board will take steps to solve problems relating to irrigation and drainage. The committee will give suggestions to the farmers to cultivate crops which have demand in the market.
He further said that with experts help farmers can get quality yield. He said it is their responsibility to see that the farmers will get MSP. He felt that there is need to create awareness among farmers on e-crop booking and added that there is need to conduct campaign on programmes implementation besides giving advises through the Rythu Bharosa Kendras.
Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita stressed on organic farming and less use of chemical fertilisers. She said that the government will set up agriculture yield purchasing centres in the days to come. She urged the board members to try to solve problems of the farmers.
District collector and district Agriculture Advisory Board Vice-Chairman I Samuel Anand Kumar said that based on the demand they will give suggestions to the farmers to cultivate crops and create awareness on services rendered through the RBKs.
District Agriculture Advisory Board chairman Nallamotu Sivarama Krishna said that there is need to create awareness among farmers to reduce use of fertilisers and pesticides.
MLAs Ambati Rambabu, Namburu Sankara Rao, Vidadala Rajini, Kilaru Rosaiah, Joint collector AS Dinesh Kumar, officials of agriculture and horticulture were present.
