Ongole: The Progressive and Democratic Students Union (PDSU) organised a memorial meeting on the 47th death anniversary of its founder George Reddy in Ongole on Sunday. The PDSU state vice president L Rajasekhar, district president M Dhanaraj said that George Reddy, who is a student of Osmania University, has worked for the welfare of the poor and fought against the discrimination at various stages in the university and society.
They condemned the attacks of ABVP and RSS outfits against the women. They said that unable to digest the opposition by George Reddy and his growing influence on the students and society, the ABVP workers killed him on April 14, 1972.
They announced that with the inspiration from its founder, the PDSU and its members are still fighting against the inequalities and discrimination at various stages in the society. The PDSU joint secretary Ch Syam, town leaders Pavan, Jeevan, Kumar, Sai, Kittu, and others also participated in the programme.
