Ensure quality in works: Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao

Visakhapatnam: Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao instructed the officials concerned to ensure quality in construction of roads, buildings and drinking water facilities.

Reviewing the progress of various development projects with officials concerned at the GVMC office here on Friday, he asked the officials to speed up the development works in the district. He instructed the officials to complete the development works soon as the financial year is ending. He reviewed development works pertaining to 10 constituencies in rural areas.

About Secretariats, Srinivasa Rao said the construction of village and ward secretariats should be completed on priority basis. Responding to a query about sand problem, District Collector V Vinay Chand said the village secretary has the power to allot sand from rivers to consumers.

He also said the engineering officers should consult with officials of various departments if any problem crops up. Constituency in-charges and officials were asked to hold regular meetings and reviews on development projects. Speaking on the occasion, Government Whip B Mutyala Naidu said action would be taken against the concerned authorities if anything goes wrong while supplying sand to common people. MLAs Karnam Dharmasri, K Bhagya Lakshmi, A Adeep Raj and Golla Babu Rao along with other officials from various departments participated.
