Visakhapatnam: Energy Secretary Nagulapalli Srikant conducted a review meeting with officials of APEPDCL and AP Transco at the Corporate Office here on Friday.
In the meeting, he reviewed the World Bank financial assistance works, DDUGJY and PDS, schemes along with the implementation of smart meters programmes, solar pump sets pilot projects works, among others.
He instructed the officials to provide uninterrupted and quality power to consumers.
He also directed the officials to release an energy bulletin daily to convey the facts to people about the power supply position, its interruptions, and duration of interruption, its causes and along with restoration time.
The circle superintendent engineers should release the bulletin in their circle level offices, he directed. "Ensure enhancement of nine-hour free power supply to all agricultural services without any interruptions in the daytime. All pending agricultural connections, if any, should be released immediately," he stated.
He instructed to complete the underground cable project works without any delay with strict supervision on contractors. He reviewed works worth Rs1,000 crore that were taken up by APEPDCL for providing uninterrupted power to consumers in its jurisdiction of five districts.
All the officials were directed to keep necessary rolling stock of the essential equipment like poles, transformers, conductors and other material for attending restoration works.
He instructed that every service should be metered and billing to be collected for long pending dues. He said the officials of APEPDCL and AP Transco should strengthen their network with co-ordination and ensure by providing uninterrupted power to consumers, overcoming problems in supply and distribution of power.
In the programme, Chairman and Managing Director of APEPDCL Nagalakshmi Selvarajan, Director of Operation and Projects K Rajabapaiah and other officers of EPDCL were present.
