West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has directed the officials of the Industries Department to accord instant permissions to all the applicants seeking approval for establishing industrial units in the district.
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has directed the officials of the Industries Department to accord instant permissions to all the applicants seeking approval for establishing industrial units in the district.
He reviewed the performance of the Industries Department scheme-wise here. Speaking on the occasion, he said that as many as 504 enthusiasts applied to set up industries during 2019-20. While 462 applications got approval, 21 of them were rejected. Whereas 21 applications were pending which needed to be scrutinized, he added.
Five heavy industries with a capital investment of Rs 2,155 crore were sanctioned and they were at various stages. Once, these industries were set up, as many as 4341 unemployed will get jobs in those units. Under MSME, 578 units with Rs 218 crore investment were given consent. For MSME units, Rs 1012 crore loan facility was extended. Stating that it was proposed to set up four MSME parks in the district, the District Collector informed that government land was allotted to the APIIC for one park while land allotment was pending with other parks.
The officials should take steps to encourage more industries to come up in the district.
