Elaborate arrangements finalised for Bhramaramba Devi Kumbhotsavam

Srisailam: A preparatory meeting was held on Wednesday, to review arrangements for the annual Kumbhotsavam of Goddess Bhramaramba Devi, scheduled to be conducted on April 7.
The meeting was chaired by Temple Executive Officer M Srinivasa Rao, who directed officials to ensure smooth and systematic conduct of the festival.
The ritual offerings will include pumpkin, coconut, lemon, and cooked rice as part of traditional practices.
Officials discussed detailed arrangements for managing the large influx of devotees expected during the festival.
Special focus was laid on maintaining orderly queue lines and preventing overcrowding, particularly during evening darshan hours.
The engineering department was instructed to set up additional queue lines along the temple steps, while security personnel were asked to implement all necessary safety measures to avoid any untoward incidents.
The Executive Officer stated that animal and bird sacrifice and any form of violence are strictly prohibited within the temple limits as per the Endowments Act. Authorities were directed to enforce the ban strictly with the support of police and revenue departments by deploying special inspection teams and mobile squads.
Steps will also be taken to create awareness among devotees through announcements and display boards at key locations.
Special security arrangements will be made at important points including temple streets and main entrances to ensure effective monitoring. Transport authorities will be requested to prevent carrying animals and birds in buses during the festival period.
The meeting also decided to request the District Collector to suspend liquor sales in the area on the eve of and on the day of the festival. Devotees will be allowed darshan and services from 7:30 AM on April 8 following the completion of the festival.
