Dr BR Ambedkar College of Law celebrates Platinum Jubilee
Former justice of Supreme Court Jasti Chelameswar inaugurated the year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar College of Law.
Visakhapatnam: Former justice of Supreme Court Jasti Chelameswar inaugurated the year-long Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar College of Law. On the occasion, the Law College organised Justice Jasti Chalameswar Endowment lecture on Sunday.
Justice Lavu Nageswara Rao, Judge of Supreme Court, delivered the endowment lecture on 'Enlarging Life and Liberty- Judicial Experiment and Reflections on Constitutional Values.'
On the second day of the celebrations, Nageswara Rao discussed 'Enlarging Life and Liberty- Judicial Experiment,' and emphasised its reflection on constitutional values.
Later, Nageswara Rao spoke about the law college and its greatness which was known to him through Chalameswar, he also clicked photograph with the professors and students. Students find the platform quite engrossing.
Praneeta, a 4th year law student says, "Nowadays, many people are deprived of fundamental rights even most of them are not aware of getting socio-economic right like right to health, right to shelter and other basic rights. This deprivation has been creating a lot of violation in the society."
Another law student Sruti, says, "The lecture on fundamental rights has been very impactful because most of us are aware of it, causing problems in the society." Vice Chancellor (additional charge) P G D V Prasada Rao presided over the function and expressed his happiness over College of Law standing among the top colleges in the country by attaining 15th position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework and 13th in the India Today ranking in 2019.
Rector K Madhusudhana Rao, Law College Principal S Sumitra, advocates and students attended the programme.
