Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das said that the government would not only grant permanent land rights to landowners through a comprehensive resurvey but also protect it.

He inaugurated a comprehensive resurvey at Navakhandravada village in Pithapuram mandal on Tuesday. He said that State government has entered into an agreement with the Survey of India to conduct this comprehensive resurvey and is conducting it in a very robust manner with modern technology. Both the comprehensive resurvey and the distribution of land titles on December 25 are historic milestones, the Minister said.

The survey teams would draw boundaries according to the maps received by satellite.

Kakinada MP Vanga Geetha said that giving 30 lakh housing sites to the poor in the state is the first unprecedented event in the history of the country.

District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy said that in the coming days, registrations will be done at the secretariats and the government will simplify the registration process.

Pithapuram MLA Pendem Dorabhabu said that even during the Corona crisis, the Chief Minister had consistently implemented welfare programmes for the poor in the State. He said that farmers and landowners in the villages should cooperate with the survey teams.
