Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reaches Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Visakhapatnam on Saturday on a two-day maiden visit to the Headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command.

On arrival, he was given a ceremonial welcome by the navy at INS Dega. The Defence Minister was received by Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Karambir Singh and Flag Officer, Commanding-in-Chief, ENC Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain and presented a Guard of Honour.

As a part of his two-day visit, Rajnath Singh would be apprised on the operational readiness of the command and other relevant aspects of the maritime and coastal security in the Eastern Seaboard at ENC Headquarters.

The Defence Minister is scheduled to visit ships and submarines of the ENC and interact with the naval personnel and defence civilians prior to his departure to New Delhi scheduled on Sunday afternoon.

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to arrive at 7 p.m. by a special aircraft.
