Comedy playlet competitions begin in Vijayawada
Sumadhura Kala Niketan’s 3-day-long 24th Telugu comedy playlet competitions commenced at Sidhartha auditorium in association with Sidhartha academy here on Friday.
Vijayawada: Sumadhura Kala Niketan's 3-day-long 24th Telugu comedy playlet competitions commenced at Sidhartha auditorium in association with Sidhartha academy here on Friday.
Three playlets were staged as per schedule on the first day. The programme traditionally commenced with Nadaswaram and followed by a veena concert by P Krishnakumari. She received appreciation from all the sections of audience. K Anilkumar supported with mridangam.
The comedy playlet competitions started with "Pagale vennela" presented by Ushodaya Kalaniketan, Katrapadu. This playlet was penned by Poorna and directed by Cherukuri Sambasiva Rao. The second playlet "Prasannaku Premato" was presented by Kalaniketan, Veerannapalem. YV Chowdary directed for the play written by Sankaramanchi Parthasarathi.
The first day competitions were concluded by the playlet of Ameture Dramatic Association, Chilakaluripet "Alito Saradaga". This playlet was canvassed by Addepalli Bharat Kumar and directed by SK Shafi.
Noted stage and TV artiste Goparaju Ramana was presented Sanagala Kabirdas award on this occasion. S Ravisankar Narayana, Asst Director of Investigations, Income Tax, N Venkateswarlu, Secretary, Sidhartha Academy, Vemuri Basava Kutumbarao, Chairman, JST Sayi appreciated the efforts taken by Sumadhura Kala Niketan for rendering service to theatre.
Samanthapudi Narasaraju, president of Sumadhura Kalaniketan, Dr MC Das, honorary president, Dr N Muralikrishna, chairman, parishad, PV Bhaskara Sarma, general secretary were also on the dais.
