Chittoor: Chief Minister's State level Basket Ball Tournament will commence at District Sports Authority (DSA) stadium here from September 26 to 28 in which the players from all the 13 districts will participate, says District Collector Narayan Bharat Gupta.

Measures have been initiated to make the tournament. Before the tourney, a friendly match between District Collector team and Chittoor SP team was held here on Sunday at DSA.

Speaking to the media men here on Sunday, District Collector said that the State level basketball tournament will be a historical event. "The government is committed for encouraging the sports with due budget allocation.

Sportsmen have to take active part in such tournaments with competitive spirit. Instructions were given to the concerned organisers to hold the tournament in a big way, he said. Necessary arrangements will be made with regard to dais, lighting , drinking water , lodging and boarding facilities, he further said.

Chittoor SP Ch V Appala Naidu exuded confidence that that the proposed state level Basketball tournament will bring fame to the district. Everyone should take active part in sports and games, he stated. District Revenue Officer Vijayachander, Basket Ball coach Bhaskar, and others were present .
