Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will visit Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday as part of the State government’s flagship ‘Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku’ programme, during which he will participate in a gram sabha in the P Gannavaram Assembly constituency and distribute pattadar passbooks to eligible beneficiaries.
According to the tour schedule, the Chief Minister will reach Irusumanda in Ambajipeta mandal at 10.45 am for a meeting with elected representatives and officials before proceeding to Jayanthi Nagar in Machavaram village. From 10.55 am to 11.35 am, he will interact with farmers on issues relating to agriculture, irrigation, land rights and land records.
He will then attend the gram sabha at Panduvaaripeta village from 11.40 am to 1.55 pm, distribute pattadar passbooks and explain the government’s measures to protect land rights, resolve re-survey issues, reform the revenue system and safeguard land records using advanced technology. Later, he will address a TDP cadre meeting at Budungapeta from 3.15 pm to 4.45 pm.
A major decision is also expected regarding the decades-old problem of ground rent lands in Konaseema district. Residential lands in Amalapuram, Ambajipeta, Mummidivaram and Ramachandrapuram continue to remain on the prohibited properties list under Section 22-A(1)(b) because of their old revenue classification, despite being used for residential purposes for decades.
The government is considering treating such residential ground rent lands on par with Gramakantham lands and removing them from the prohibited list under a special category. The proposal could benefit 1,416 residents and address issues involving 1,281 survey numbers, including 32 eligible residents of Jayanthi Nagar.
Since January, the government has distributed more than 36 lakh pattadar passbooks in 8,234 villages. Nearly four lakh additional passbooks have been readied for distribution in 783 villages this month. The government aims to complete the programme by next March, covering the remaining villages and taking the total distribution beyond 56 lakh passbooks.
The government has also begun resolving similar long-pending land issues elsewhere, including the recent removal of restrictions on lands in several villages under the 22-A prohibited list.
