Tirupati: CITU Chittoor district (East) president M Nagarjuna demanded that the TTD management to provide minimum wage of Rs 18,000 to all the contract and outsourcing employees working in TTD.

The CITU leadr spoke after hoisting the red flag at CITU district office and also municipal corporation office here to mark the celebration of the 50th anniversary of CITU which was founded on May 30, 1970.

Despite contract employees protests and representations several times, the TTD management failed to move, he said seeking the TTD to implement minimum wage to all TTD contract and outsourcing employees.

Nagarjuna said that CITU in its golden jubilee year celebration would strive to build a strong united trade union movement involving all the trade unions to safeguard workers and employees. CITU would approach the trade unions including INTUC, AITUC, BMS and other unions to join together for a combine struggle in workers issue.

He also hoisted CITU flag at corporation office later. TTD Staff and Workers United Front general secretary G Venkatesam, CITU district treasurer Balasubramayam, CITU leader Lakshmi and others were present.
