The Chirala Camera Club celebrated the National Camera Day at the Ambedkar Bhavan here on Saturday.

Chirala: The Chirala Camera Club celebrated the National Camera Day at the Ambedkar Bhavan here on Saturday. The Club presented prizes to the winners of State-level photography competition and also to the essay writing competition.

Club president and retired ATO K Dayaratnam presided over the celebrations as the ITC- gri Business Division Factory Manager SS Syamsundar participated as the chief guest to the programme. Andhra Pradesh Photography Academy treasurer RV Sharma, EC member EA Veerabhadra Rao, member K Yugandhar also participated as the guests.

After inaugurating the photography exhibition, Syamsundar said that the photographers have the ability to move the society with one picture. The ITC APD production manager V Sridhar said that photography was developing into new trends these days. Club secretary Sankham Suresh said that they received 456 entries from 62 photographers in the State and it has been a tough task to select the winners.

He said that 43 students have sent entries to the essay competition on the topic 'Effect of cell phone on the livelihood of photographers'. The guests and club members presented the prizes and certificates to photography and essay competitions.
