Kakinada: East Godavari District Medical and Health authorities as part of National De-worming Day administered de-worming tablets in two phases for 13.5 lakh identified school children.

According to East Godavari DMHO Dr B Sathya Susheela, the first dose of de-worming tablets were administered on Thursday on the occasion of National De-worming Day. She also said that all the government schools, junior colleges, colleges and anganwadi centers are being covered under this programme.

East Godavari Joint Collector -2 G Rajakumari administered the tablets to children at the programme organized at Girls welfare hostel at Pandora. The JC-2 advised the children to observe personal hygiene. She said that with worms in the intestine, children would not grow properly and urged the parents to administer the deworming tablets to children carefully.
