India Cements Vice Chairman Narayanaswamy Srinivasan, Telangana leading businessman and My Homes group Chairman Jupally Rameswara Rao, Hetero Group chairman B Parthasarathy Reddy, prominent social activist Sudha Murthy, wife of Infosys founder Narayanamurthy, Gundavaram Venkata Bhaskararao, Chairman and MD of Kaveri Seeds were among 24 members nominated for prestigious TTD board.
The Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has released the orders on Wednesday, constituting full members including existing chairman, 24 nominated members and 4 Ex Officio members.
Lok Sabha former Member and Jagan's uncle YV Subba Reddy was appointed as Chairman earlier, when the YSRCP formed government. Last week, the government has increased the number of members in the board from 19 to 29, including Chairman, members and Ex-Officio members.
The YSRCP leaders from both AP and Telangana got opportunity in the board. Putta Prathap Reddy, YSRCP leader in Telangana, Chippagiri Prasad Kumar, YSRCP leader from Proddatur in Kadapa district of AP also got a chance.
The government has appointed people from various states in this Trust Board of Lord Srivenkateswara. They include 8 from AP, 7 from Telangana, 4 from Tamil Nadu, 1 from Delhi, 3 from Karnataka and another one from Maharashtra.
Members including V Prasanthi, UV Ramana Murthy (MLA), Mallikharjuna Reddy (MLA), Nadendla Subba Rao, DP Anantha, Chippagiri Prasad Kumar and K Parthasarathy (MLA) from Andhra Pradesh. Rameswara Rao, Parthasarathi Reddy, U Venkata Bhaskara Rao, Mooramsetti Ramulu, D Damodar Rao, K Siva Kumar and Putta Pratapa Reddy are representing from Telangana. Krishnamurthy Vaidyanathan, S Srinivasan, Dr Nichitha Muttavarapu and Kumaraguru (MLA) from Tamilnadu, MS Shiva Shankaran from New Delhi, Ramesh Shetty, Sampath Ravi Narayana and Sudha Narayana Murthy from Karnataka and Rajesh Sharma from Maharashtra were also nominated.
In addition to these members, the government also appointed four members as Ex Officio members in the Board, including TUDA Chairman, SPL CS, Commissioner Endowments and Executive Officer of TTD. Manmohan Singh, Special Chief Secretary, Endowments department has released the Government orders on Wednesday through GO MS No 405.
It is worth to mention here that, the TTD's Budget for 2019-20 is more than Rs 3,100 crore. A large chunk of TTD's riches come from donations in cash and kind by ordinary devotees.
