BJP criticises lack of development under YSRCP
BJP AP affairs in-charge Sunil Deodhar said no development was visible anywhere in the state despite passing of four months since the YSRCP government came to office.
Kurnool: BJP AP affairs in-charge Sunil Deodhar said no development was visible anywhere in the state despite passing of four months since the YSRCP government came to office. "People voted for Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy reposing great faith in him. He needs to work in realising their aspirations and hopes," he said.
The national BJP leader accompanied by Party Rajya Sabha member T G Venkatesh and others addressed a press conference a hotel here on Thursday. He attributed the lack of development in Andhra Pradesh to widespread corruption and stressed the need to root it out to bring in a change.
Targeting as usual the TDP and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Sunil Deodhar said Naidu had owned up the centrally-funded schemes and siphoned off funds that were released by the Centre. Naidu lost confidence of people and no one was ready to believe him anymore, he declared.
His frequent vitriol against TDP and its chief are seen by observers as an attempt by the saffron party to net as many cadres and leaders from the main Opposition party in the state which won 39.2 per cent votes as against the BJP's mere 0.84 per cent, less than NOTA votes.
Deodhar firmly ruled out the possibility of BJP aligning with the TDP once again declaring that Naidu was a closed chapter. "Naidu betrayed his own father-in-law and came to power by backstabbing him. He encouraged corruption in his government," he said.
Deodhar said states in the country would enjoy corruption-free government only under the BJP and Narendra Modi government as no other prime minister could take bold decisions in the interests of people like him. He reiterated that the BJP would not support dynastic politics and only merit and hard work would be criteria in the party.
Explaining the objective of BJP conducting Gandhi Sankalpa Yatras across the country, the national BJP leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the yatras to take the principles and ideas of Gandhiji to the people.
He said Modi was more a servant than a Prime Minister who was striving to make India a Vishwa Guru. He said the Modi government was striving to make India a super power by making use of youth power.
Rajya Sabha Member Venkatesh said untouchability was still prevailing in the district and BJP was striving to weed out caste discrimination. He said an awareness was being created among people on the harmful effects of plastic use through Gandhi Sankalpa Yatra.
Stating that nany animals were falling prey to plastic, he stressed the urgent need to restrict its use. Party leaders said Sankalpa Yatra was completed in Kadapa and Anantapur and now it was being conducted in Kurnool district.
