Balashowry requests union to operate an international flight from Vijayawada

Amaravati: The YSRCP MP V Balashowry requested the Union Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri to run the Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad-Dubai flight from Vijayawada. Balashowry met Hardeep Singh in New Delhi on Wednesday and requested him to operate this Air India direct flight from Vijayawada airport at least three days in a week, as it is a regular flight from Visakhapatnam.

In his letter, he explained that as the Amaravati has been chosen as the new capital of AP and Vijayawada international airport falls within the Capital Region and Vijayawada emerged as the commercial capital of the state, travelers going to various countries from here.

He also mentioned that the Vijayawada is the central point to reach any tourist destination in the state. The Vijayawada is the nerve centre of AP and in the absence of a flight from Vijayawada to Dubai is not only impacting tourism potential but also pinching the people as they have to go all the way either to Visakhapatnam or Hyderabad to board a Dubai flight.
