Srikakulam: District Collector J Nivas inspected the arrangements for army recruitment rally to be held at Government Degree College (GDC) grounds here on Saturday.

The recruitment will be conducted from November 7 to 17 and candidates from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Godavari and Krishna districts in the state and also from Yanam district in Puducherry are eligible to participate in the recruitment.

The Collector directed the officials to make necessary arrangements for lodging and boarding facilities to candidates. He asked the officials to provide safe drinking water to candidates and set up medical camp to provide primary medical aid.

The Collector also directed the corporation officials to maintain good sanitary conditions to prevent spread of seasonal diseases as more than 52,000 candidates were expected to turn up for selection process. So far, 52,000 candidates from all seven districts applied for selection.

The Collector directed police officials, roads and buildings department engineers to make separate arrangements for conducting physical events to candidates and certificate verification counters to clear rush.

Everyday food items need to be supplied to the candidates on punctual manner as per the timetable given by the army officials. Army recruitment officer Bhupender Singh, Municipal Commissioner M Geetha Devi and other officials participated in the meeting.
