AP Secretariat employees ready to shift to Vizag

Amaravati: As soon as the Supreme Court lifted the Model Code of Conduct in the state which was imposed by the State Election Commission (SEC) to conduct the local body elections, the Secretariat employees announced that they did not have objection to shift to Visakhapatnam as part of the shifting of administrative capital from Amaravati.
The AP Secretariat Employees Association (APSEA) president K Venkata Rami Reddy said on Wednesday that they were ready to move to the port city which will be the Executive capital.
The government tentatively gave the date of shifting the capital from Amaravati to the Vizag as May 31. If it is not possible, the shifting will be completed in the first week of July.
The government is determined to shift the Secretariat at any cost. If the procedure gets delayed due to the coronavirus disease, the shifting programme will be undertaken after the normalcy is restored, may be in the month of July or August.
In a meeting conducted by leaders with the Secretariat employees, the employees explained their problems and presented their wish list.
Employees were asked to give the details of their children's education status, properties bought in Amaravati capital city.
Those who bought lands in the Amaravati will get interest free loans to the tune of Rs 20 lakh for construction of houses. The interest amount will be paid by the state government.
At the same time, for the officials who have school and college-going children, will be asked to continue their children in schools in Amaravati till June or July and arrangements will be made to continued studies in Vizag later.
