A young woman committed suicide on Thursday at the coast of Bhavanpadu in Srikakulam mandal. According to police and locals, Siripuram Uchitha (21) of Davidigam village near Paralakhemundi in Odisha has been in a love with Purukonda Durgaprasad of the same village for eight years. Durga Prasad has married another woman five years ago and has a son.
However, the love affair between Durga Prasad and Uchitha continued. Against this backdrop, they both came on Thursday on two motorcyclists at Bhavanapadu beach. The victim arrived at the nearest garden after bathing. In the meantime, she consumed the insecticide she had brought in her bag. Fishermen spotted nets nearby and informed the local police.
The victim had died before Naupada sub-inspector Sai Kumar could arrive at the scene. Knowing the details, the case was registered and the body was shifted to Tekkali District Central Hospital for postmortem. The deceased's father had been working as a tailor in Vizag Auto Nagar.
