Andhra Pradesh government allocated Rs 24 crore for Kondaveedu Fort development

Guntur: The State government has allocated Rs 24 crore for the development of historical Kondaveedu Fort in Guntur district to attract more tourists. The government issued orders to this effect.

Similarly, the government made an allocation of Rs 8 lakh for the construction of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on the hillock.

Addressing the media in Chilakaluripet on Sunday, MLA Vidadala Rajini informed that the government released Rs 24 crore for widening the road from Boyapalem under Yadlapadu mandal to Kondaveedu Fort and for the development of the fort.

She said, "The government was committed to development of the fort with international standards and revive the past glory of the fort. I have already explained significance of fort to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who responded positively and assured to release necessary funds for the development of fort. Since the YSRCP came to power, the government had released Rs 30 crore for the development of fort."

She further said that the government will call tenders to widen the road from Boyapalem to Kondaveedu Fort and added that the government has already sanctioned a sub-station.
