The incident of suicide of a student after drinking pesticide took place in Subbaigudem village of the Jaggaiahpet mandal in NTR district on Tuesday. According to the police report, Harisha (20) from Subbaigudem village is studying in the final year of her degree in a private college in Nandigama. She has not been in good health for some time and has not been going to college regularly.

Harisha, who was offended by her father's reprimand for not going to college, drank pesticide on the 1st of this month. The family members who identified her first took her to Nandigama Hospital and later to Vijayawada Government Hospital in vehicle 108 for better treatment.

Since then, her condition worsened and she died on Monday night. SI Hariprasad has registered a case on the complaint of father Srinivasa Rao and is investigating.
