Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the government has begun the exercise of desalination to use seawater to counter the water shortage in the state. Israel company IDE Technologies deputy CEO Lehi Torrenstein and other representatives have met with CM Jagan on Wednesday. At the meeting, CM Jagan said that not a single drop of water should be wasted hence decided to at up desalination units.

The CM recalled that the Israel country method of using desalination for various purposes and directed the officials to use the Desalinated water for industrial purposes and drinking water as well if necessary.

CM Jagan urged company representatives to study and submit the report on where desalination plants should be located. As part of the program, the desalination technique is likely to implemented in Visakhapatnam and will be extended to other places. The CM asked the officials to provide either desalination or purified water to tell the plant.
